Taking Ownership of Our Bodies
Every woman who walks into the studio carries a story. Some stories are lighthearted and full of celebration. Others are layered with pain, healing, and incredible strength. Today, I want to share a story — anonymously — that moved me deeply.
This woman is busy. She’s been pouring herself into everyone else for years, barely slowing down to breathe. But recently, she made a decision:
it’s time to take care of myself.
Her journey hasn’t been easy. She experienced sexual trauma in her tween years, and for a long time carried self-hate, shame, and silence.
Her husband — who she’s been with for 19 years — was the one who helped her out of that dark place.
But the trauma didn’t just disappear. For the past four years, she’s been unpacking it, layer by layer.
And now? She’s ready to reclaim herself. She’s ready to rekindle her marriage, to connect more deeply with her husband, and to finally take ownership of her body. Not from a place of shame, but from a place of power.
Her words stuck with me: “It brought me to where I am.”
This session isn’t just about photos. It’s about healing. It’s about rewriting the narrative. It’s about seeing herself as she truly is — whole, strong, and worthy.
If you’ve ever carried trauma, shame, or self-doubt, I want you to hear this: You are not broken. Your story matters. And when you are ready, you get to choose how you take back your body and your power.
She’s making it a priority. She’s saying yes to herself. And that is where the healing begins. 💕
