Empowered at 41 – Sherry’s 40 Over 40 Experience at Pearl Studios
Sherry is a powerhouse. At 41, this nurse and mother of two stepped in front of the camera to celebrate everything her body has been through — and who she’s become.
“I believe in empowering women to feel confident in their own skin,” she said. That’s why she said yes to the 40 Over 40 Experience — a photography project at Pearl Studios that celebrates women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond.
Redefining Beauty After 40
Sherry admitted that in her younger years, she thought beauty was about perfect clothes and hair. But aging, motherhood, and a battle with stage 3 cancer completely transformed her view.
“Now, I know my personality, confidence, and experience are what make me beautiful.”
She wishes her younger self could’ve seen herself through the lens of those who truly loved her. “That internal monologue should be kind — reminding us how awesome we are, inside and out.”
From Nervous to Powerful
Before her shoot, Sherry was more excited than nervous. “I was ready to strut my stuff! Vanessa made it so easy.”
A moment that stood out?
“Looking at my naked profile and realizing I love this journey. I’ve had two kids, survived cancer, gained and lost weight… and I’m still standing. My body tells my story.”
When she saw her images for the first time, her reaction was visceral:
“Shocked. Amazed. I didn’t know I could look so hot!”
Her Message to Other Women
Sherry’s message to any woman hesitating about a shoot like this:
“Do it. Don’t be nervous. Just try it. You have everything to gain!”
She believes every curve and scar is part of your personal masterpiece. “Love all the curves because they make you who you are.”
Being Part of the 40 Over 40 Movement
For Sherry, this wasn’t just a photoshoot — it was a celebration of survival, self-love, and womanhood. “This experience was absolutely f**king amazing. I feel powerful, beautiful, and seen.”
